What to Do to Get Domain Registration and Hosting Services at Cheaper Rates

    FAQ|Best Host Companies

    A frequently-asked query:

I’m looking for the best web host/domain service out there. I need it to have Php/Mysql support (Apache too?). Cost is not the most important factor, the service is a priority, one that has a no bull policy.

Dear web developers and internet savvy people please help me find a good one.

http://futurequest.net/ runs on Apache. All full hosting packages have PHP and multiple databases, among other things. There’s no bull there. They’ll bend over backward to help you out. It’s worth the price.

Let me tell you a little about my experience with web hosting companies over the years. At times you will come across deals that are almost too good to be true – cheap web hosting with amazing features! There are hosts that while offering cheap prices do back that up with excellent performance and service, but there are things to be noted:
There are a lot of potential questions you must ask yourself, whilst bearing in mind about their reputation, and ultimately – the price. check http://www.topwebhostingslist.com to see what web host is getting the best reputation as well as the bad, which helps to decide who to stay away from.Your experience might be different but I have many complaints from PowWeb and Dot5Hosting. Those companies just took the money and provided me with bad customer support and my websites would always be down. Today I use inmotionhosting for my web hosting and I’m very satisfied. As long as you do a little research before buying your web hosting you will be fine
      good luck!

There are many different types of web hosting companies available in the market today. Choosing a web hosting provider depends on what type of website you want to have: hobby, blog, or ecommerce site. As a result, there are different flavors of hosting providers. Some of the most common web site hosting types is: shared, free, and dedicated hosting. Free web hosting services for example, place ads on the user’s web pages and can be cumbersome and annoying for visitors. The other web hosting plans offer great support, options, and bandwidth but charge a monthly fee Shared hosting is the most popular web hosting plan, basic. Shared web site hosting permits more than one site to be hosted on the same server. Here, the web hosts provide the system administration and the server maintenance. Benefits of a shared hosting site are programming features such as ASP, PHP, MySQL, large bandwidth, and multiple e-mail address capability. Compared to free web hosting, shared web hosting allows a user to have their own domain name. Shared hosting is a way for a hosting company to offer affordable web hosting to their clients while having more users on one server and thus less overhead costs. Dedicated hosting is a good option for someone who wants more storage and bandwidth and control over the server. The advantages of having dedicated hosting are: unlimited databases and email addresses as well as unlimited bandwidth. Generally, a dedicated server plan offers the user with a monthly bandwidth of 500 GB to 1 TB. Also important to know that there are two types of dedicated web hosting plans: managed and unmanaged. Managed hosting is hosting that is still controlled by the hosting company. In unmanaged dedicated web hosting, the user is the server administrator, permitting the user the greatest amount of control and flexibility. Unfortunately, unmanaged hosting is complicated and takes more time than a managed hosting solution.

      Hi TheFox,

If you want a truly reliable web host with quality service, I’d strongly recommend Host Gator. It does offer a domain registration service coupled with its web hosting.

But generally, a domain name registered with a web host costs a few bucks more per year. That’s one thing you must know.

If you register your domain name with a domain registrar, you can get cheaper. It’s just that you need to change your dns server manually (it’s not difficult though).

However, if quality is your main concern and you want to save yourself the hassle of manually changing dns server, and you don’t mind paying a few bucks more for the domain name when you sign up with the web hosting, then I don’t think you’ll have a problem with Host Gator.

Above is an almost complete review of Host Gator. It’s very information heavy, that’s why I can’t copy everything over here. Go have a good read (will probably take you about 10 mins but it’s worth it if you can get one that provides you with the best reliability and earns you the most profits):

Oh, Php/Mysql and Apache are available in it too. So you don’t have to worry about that.

      Hope that helps. Cheers ;)

      Soon Chai

Based on my experience GoDaddy answers your questions promptly and they’ve been good at solving issues.

I agree with your decision to not want a free web site it looks sleazy.

Godaddy is a fine domain name registrar and web host to go through.

although Godaddy is not user friendly, free FTP programs make it easier to manage your site.

This screen cast demonstrates the use of free FTP programs to make your website easier to manage:

It depends on what your looking for, make sure it’s scalable and has more than one plan. What type of site are you gonna be running? If it’s something like a online store then you have to make sure the web host offers built in eccommerce functionality, it all depends on what you want to do with your website, but no matter what it has to be scalable so it can grow with your business.

Powweb is NOT GOOD AT ALL.
Let me help you choose a better one.

Well , there is hostgator , google host yahoo and godaddy.
But the most recommended and best web host so far is www.NetworkJuiceHosting.com ; Network Juice.

They now offer plans starting around $0.99/mo for a great amount of diskspace plus everything else unlimited. Plus they’ve manage to keep up 99% Uptime.

They have all features such as PHP5, java ,Cpanel , Fantastico ( allows you to auto install Blogging systems and CMS portals without wasting time) , Cron Job , Apache ,Unlimited Dadabase , ftp accounts and much more. Basically EVERYTHING! is supported.

There are other affordable plans as well in NetworkJuiceHosting.com.

Hostgator.com is also a great host , but there Uptime time is not so good. Also , customer service is very poor , Not to many features are supported.

Google.com not so sure , But i know there’s lots of files they do not support , no Cpanel , and i don’t know how come , but they have been receiving downtimes lately in their host servers.

yahoo , let me just say it’s the worst web host ever ,you can’t even host the amount of domains you want to host . Including FatCow.com. The downtime is way to much , and many files are un-compatible in fatcow for some reason.

To buy a domain , the most recommended site is godaddy , but not for it’s hosting!! I Tell you !!!.

For a Great Affordable web host with maximum features , the most recommended web host is www.NetworkJuiceHosting.com . ; Network Juice Hosting.

You are getting your answers from an expert , and yes I have tried all these web host.

That’s all I got to say mate ;)

First you do not need any license unless you are using images/code/text that is not your own.

Second for web hosting advice. I will not tell you which one to go for, i will just tell you what you should keep in mind.

      a. Any host advertising unlimited space/bandwidth. This is just not possible, do not fall for this trick.

      b. Because i think you do not have any hosting experience therefore go for a host that gives wysiwyg editors and site builders as part of the hosting package. These will help you a lot.

      c. Check google for reviews for the host that you finally choose. Do not go to specific review sites which are paid to review better yet look in forums.

      d. http://webhostingtalk.com could be overwhelming at first but you can find what other people are saying about your chosen host.

I’ve tried quite a few; the best I’ve found so far is Hostgator – reasonably priced, easy to use, and great customer service – whenever I’ve contacted them with questions or requests, they’ve responded within minutes.

Cost is $7.95 month for UNLIMITED space and domains. Use this code: wordpress
and get your 1st month for just one penny!

Winninghosting.com is always great for me because their staff is very friendly and very knowledgeable. Plus their prices are great, $1.99 a month for basic sites and $3.99 a month if you need more features. Also watch out for companies that say unlimited because truly there’s no such thing. They stop you from filling up too much stuff on their harddrives with their fine print in their terms of services. I found that out the hard way. Just go with a company that has a great price and a money back guarantee and you’ll be fine.

I think all web hosts suck. None are the best. What is best depends on your requirements and needs. When a person says a company is the best, then another person will come and say this company is the worst. You can see the webhost review sites out there, none have the consensus of which is the best. If you are having problem choosing a web hosting to use for your own special need, I suggest you do the following:

      1. Go to the webhost review sites such as webhostingjury, hostingsthatsuck.com or webhostinggeeks and list down about 3 common top hosting companies.

      2. Next, for each web hosting X, do a “X sucks” search on Google. Read some complaints and see if you may encounter the same problems like them. Some of the complaints may relate to certain groups of users only such as VPS, dedicated server users or resellers. So you may not be affected if you are not from these categories.

      3. Eliminate those hostings you feel uncomfortable with, and look for the best bargain hosting for your money.

Nonetheless, I think Fatcow, Webfaction and Justhost are some of the best.

      Have fun.

it actually depends on your website needs and your business requirements.i have been using jump launch for almost a year now and so far i am totally pleased with the service…cheap..i nearly pay about $60/year, reliable and a dedicated friendly tech support which is important for me, the main reason i actually cancelled my subscription with godaddy was that their tech support was completely unprofessional. Jump launch also provides a full ecommerce solution which was crucial for my online store and use-friendly script..i got free domain name and $75 google adwards and yahoo credits….what else would i need.

of course that doesn’t mean it is the best, actually my friend is using fatcow and he really likes the service as well.

      you can check out http://www.freewebs.com/ultimatewebhostingcomparison/
it is a web hosting comparison website for top web hosting providers, their hosting plans, features, bonuses and a review rating on each one.
i think it is worth checking so you can consider your possibilities fairly. :)

Yahoo, because of it’s simplicity. They really make every step clear and simple start to finish. I’ve had hosting plans before that were supposed to be "the best" and nothing but trouble. And no, I don’t work for Yahoo…

      cebustone.com

I’m NOT a designer but did the page from start to finish myself.
